Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like working with you?

You can expect to feel known, valued, and loved as you move forward with your life.

What kind of coaching do you do?

As a professional biblically-based ontological/causal coach, I honor my clients as the experts of their own lives and trust the Holy Spirit to do a mighty work in the lives of my clients. I’m trained to listen and reflect at a deep level, always helping my clients to gain a better understanding of their circumstances and how to move forward.

Ontology is the study of who you are being, versus what you are doing. A facilitative coach will tell you what to do. I am not a facilitative coach. An ontological coach will support, challenge and advocate for you to reach your highest future vision. A causal coach does not coach the symptoms of our clients. A causal coach gets to the root of the problem or CAUSE. I am a biblically-based ontological/causal coach. I will equip, encourage, and empower you to be all that GOD has created you to be. A life coach partners with you. I help you see your thoughts and discover what’s truly causing you pain. Then, we decide how you can get some relief and find joy.

Why should I hire a life coach?

If you’re looking for a transformative approach to your life and career through mindset shifts and decision-making you’re ready for life coaching!

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. Isn’t Jesus enough? Are you sure I need a life coach?

He sure is enough. So is the Word of God, but we often look to pastors and biblical teachers to help us understand the Bible as the Bible instructs us to do. The Bible also directs us to seek wise counsel. Proverbs 19:20-NLT  “Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life.” Romans 12:2 says, “do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. As a Biblically-based life coach scripture is at the foundation of all that I do. Biblically-based life coaching enhances your walk with God and helps you live in your true identity.

I am not a Christian, can your coaching help me?

It sure can. My beliefs are the value system in which I operate and live. I won’t ever force you to believe what I believe, and I will always respect you. If you’re comfortable knowing that I am a person of faith and see the world through a Biblical lens, I am sure we will work wonderfully together.

Where do we meet for our session?

All of our sessions will take place over Zoom. Even those that are local to me find that coaching over Zoom is effective, easy, and convenient.

How do I work with you?

First, click the ‘book a consultation’ button at the bottom of this page. Then, I will reach out to you to set up a time to do a free consult. During that 30 minute call you can tell me a little bit about your story and the areas in which you struggle or want to grow. I will share with you how life coaching might help you. I will give you the framework of the coaching experience, and you can decide if coaching is a good fit for you.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes, it is. Trust is at the core of our coaching-client relationship. I hold myself to the same level of confidentiality as a doctor-patient relationship.

Coaching is working so well for me. If I tell my friend about you, will you talk about me during your sessions?

Again, trust and confidentiality is at the core of coaching. You can be sure that what you say in coaching stays in coaching.

Am I too old for life coaching? Am I too young?

You’re never too old to become more of who God created you to be. I would say my specialty is working with women in their mid-upper 20s to 70s.

Do you coach men?

No, I do not. I do have a male Christian life coach that I am happy to recommend.

How is coaching different than counseling?

Here’s an analogy I think is helpful:

Counseling is like archaeology. You dig up the past, evaluate it, decide what it means, and then, consider how it impacts your life. You often find out the ‘why’ through counseling.

Coaching is like architecture. You decide what you want to build, discover ways to get what you desire in life, and use tools and skills to help you get there. A key concept in coaching is: your past doesn’t define you and doesn’t tell you who you can become. It’s tells you who you have been. How you retell your past matters. (This is only one of the incredible concepts.)

Biblically-based coaching is the perfect version of coaching. It’s founded on the wisdom of scripture and makes plenty of room for the Holy Spirit to do a mighty work in and through you.

There is a place for counseling and coaching in this world.

Additional thoughts after visiting with a friend that’s a counselor and is transitioning into full time coaching because of the results she’s getting with her clients through coaching: “If a person hasn’t processed trauma with someone professionally or has a diagnosed mental health diagnosis that impairs their ability to do daily activities, they may need a counselor. For most other things, I think coaching is even more helpful.”
